MONDAY 18th FEBRUARY 2013

The regular monthly meeting of the Shots Trust Board of Directors took place on Monday 18 February with all nine Directors present. There was an air of doom and gloom that evening with the Club joint bottom of the Football League but then … three points against Torquay on Tuesday, the ousting of the Manager on Wednesday, the arrival of Andy Scott on Friday and glory be, three more points versus high-flying Fleetwood Town on Saturday. Suddenly things look very different. However more tough games are to come, so no celebrations just yet. Graham Brookland attended the meeting for a short while in his capacity of President and all pledged to do everything they could to support the Trust and the Football Club.

The re-launch of the Shots Trust had resulted so far in over 100 new or re-joining members and it was hoped the membership could reach over 600. The AGM is planned for the end of May when members will be asked to vote on an increase in membership fees. New members will be encouraged to join and existing members advised to renew or change to a five-year or lifetime membership before the new proposed fee structure is put into place.

In return for the Trust’s expenditure on the new extractor unit in the Phoenix Lounge, a number of reciprocal packages are available. These will include Match Day Mascots and seats in the South Stand hospitality boxes when there are vacancies. With the opening of the new Community Stand scheduled for March, complimentary seats will be available to individuals and community groups nominated by the Shots Trust members after the official opening at the Wimbledon match when Terry Owens will cut the tape. Please apply initially to any Board member, who will then liaise with Bob Green at the Club to confirm the next available match when tickets are available

Fund-raising events are being planned for the summer, including a Darts Evening with professional players and an informal Sportsman’s Dinner with a celebrity footie guest speaker. The Shots Trust website is being updated and a repeat trip to Wembley Stadium is planned for the juniors (and any friends/family m
Come on you Shots!embers if they wish). Further details of these events will follow.
