THE   SHOTS  TRUST  NEEDS  YOU !

keep-calm-and-join-the-shots-trust-27Since the Shots Trust News went online this weekend there has been very encouraging support for the Trust and for fund-raising.  Money is always welcome but we consider it is unrealistic to think our fan base can raise the sort of money required to take over the Club.  Even if there were 75 fans prepared to stump up £1000 that would only keep the Club going for less than a fortnight! There may well be alternatives and the Trust’s Board is to meet again on Thursday evening and after taking advice from Supporters Direct there may be more to say. We will keep you informed.

What the Trust needs now more than anything is an increase in membership; it’s currently at 530 but a fan base of say 1000 would give us a much stronger voice in our discussions with the administrators and any future owner(s). It could even give us a non-voting seat on the Board.

So, you can help by maintaining your membership – perhaps consider changing to a 5 year or lifetime membership and/or encouraging your friends, family, neighbours or anyone else who’s interested in supporting Aldershot Town Football Club to join the Trust.  Membership details and an application form are available online at www.theshotstrust.co.uk and the current fees are as follows:-

  • Adults £7 annual, £28 five-year;
  • Seniors £3 annual, £12 five-year;
  • Juniors £3 annual;

A recent survey of members indicated they would support an increase in these fees and this will be put to the AGM in late June. So now is the time to support the Trust and the Club and get your membership at the current cheaper rate.

One other important snippet of information is that Terry Owens and John Orme had a personal meeting yesterday afternoon with the administrators and we can confirm the following:-

  1. All payments made to the Club for season tickets will be ring-fenced and not used as cash flow; this means your money is safe.
  1. Terry will have weekly update meetings with the administrators.
  1. The administrators support the Trust’s ongoing dialogue with Supporters Direct.

You can of course join online directly from this site by clicking here or clicking the Join the Trust menu item at the top of the page

Come on you Shots fans.
